NZ vs AUS, 1st Test, Day 1 Both the teams will be the happiest. As soon as the first day's play ends, Australia will be the happiest of the two teams. With the surface already playing tricks, New Zealand would like to get the last wicket quickly on the second day and come out to bat. The Kiwis will have to bat well in the first innings as they have to bat last on this uneven surface. As far as Australia is concerned, the onus will be on Cameron Green to bat for as long as possible to take the first innings total closer to 300.

The second day will start at 3.30 am IST (10 pm GMT on the previous day). But you can also join us earlier for the build-up. Till then take care and bye! The best man of the moment Cameron Green is ready for a quick chat. He says that it feels good to score a century and he is happy with how his team has prepared on this difficult pitch. He said that after the 20th over, the ball kept coming back fast and it became difficult to bat. It is said that he and Mitchell Marsh played well and Marsh took the pressure off him. Mentions that overhead conditions will be important for Day 2 and says the match is well prepared. The conclusion is that the Kiwis have a very strong lineup and they will have to bowl really well. As far as New Zealand are concerned, they will be disappointed that they could not bowl out Australia when they were in a difficult position at 176-6. After winning the toss New Zealand looked for early successes but were successful in restricting Australia's score.

Led by Tim Southee's decision to bowl first the Kiwi fast bowlers, especially Matt Henry troubled the Australian openers with disciplined bowling. His persistence paid off with the crucial wicket of Steven Smith just before lunch, giving New Zealand a positive takeaway from the session. After a not very good first session, the hosts needed early wickets to start the afternoon session on the right foot. The Kiwi fast bowlers bowled with much more discipline than in the first session and took three wickets in the second session. New Zealand continued to take the lead in the third session but faced stiff resistance from Green who was unable to see past him. Matt Henry was the best bowler for the hosts on the first day taking four wickets. 132 runs 32 overs and 5 wickets. Australia has the advantage and thanks to Cameron Green's special century, the visiting team has won the honor on the opening day of the first Test. On a surface where it has become difficult to score runs, Green played a role and it seemed as if he was batting on a different surface to everyone else

. Australia were sent in to bat in overcast conditions and relied on Steven Smith and Usman Khawaja to cope in a challenging first hour. Both batsmen displayed resilience, with Smith punishing loose balls and Khawaja gaining confidence after a poor start. Despite losing Smith before lunch, Australia established a solid base with Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne forming a partnership to prevent further setbacks. It was not at all an ideal start for Australia in the second season. The visitors suffered an early blow in the form of promising Marnus Labuschagne before losing Khawaja and Travis Head in quick succession. After this, Mitchell Marsh along with Cameron Green attacked the opposition team and took the initiative in favor of his team. However, he failed to kick and Alex Carey also could not do anything special, putting the Australian team on the back foot. Green went on in his merry way and built lattice stands with tails to keep the scoreboard moving. With nine wickets down, Green had no option but to hit big shots to complete his second Test century and he did it in style in the last over of the day.
